Theoretically the Exploration Guilds of Ignotus have a limited budget to spend. In practice, a single ancient statue of solid gold pays for a lot. Like the cruise liner that you're on. You boarded a few days ago in Vermilion City and can't wait to get of the ship and to start exploring. As the ship pulls into port you see the lavish welcome put on by Argenport. The ship bringing in the new guild recruits wouldn't normally get much fanfare, but the ship is also carrying a group of rich tourists that need to be welcomed. The four of you disembark well before the other patrons, the crew mentioning something about not wanting to annoy Magnar. Presumably the bored looking red haired man at the end of the pier is him. He looks at the four of you and rubs the burn scar on his right arm. "Welcome Apprentices." He says in a rather put upon tone. "I'm Explorer Magnar Scarlet and I'll be escorting you to Calico Town and the guild, where you'll hopefully become somebody else's problem. To answer the easy questions, I can set people on fire, train fire types and have a magic wand. I'll give you an hour to buy anything you need for the next two weeks since you won't back here for at least that long." He pulls out four identity cards and hands them to you. "They each have an extra 3000P loaded for you guys to spend, so have fun getting to know each other while I turn gold into cash." He says and turns to leave. "Meet me on the South Road." He calls

"Thanks," Neel says as he accepts the identity card handed to him from Magnar. After Magnar walks off, Neel heads over to a nearby bench and puts his backpack down and opens it up grabbing his Portable Grower and a Black Apricorn out of it, quickly planting it, before looking through his supplies.
Turning toward the other three members of the guild he says, "Hello, I'm Neel. We should probably coordinate between each other of what we have, and what we might need before we do leave town, since we have received a bit of extra money. I can make some simple medicines pretty easily, and I also have a couple spare berries, and that's really all I brought with me."

Eric feels almost sad leaving the cruise liner behind. That was the first and probably the last time I get to live in luxury, the young man thinks. As he disembarks the ship, he can't help but notice the other three people getting off at the same time as him. These must be my new guiildmates. Eric doesn't have an opportunity to say 'Hi' as they soon approach a rather bored looking man. Eric is a little amused by the man's gruff tone and speech. I'm a problem already, huh. Eric struggles not to smile but nods politely, saying "Thanks," upon receiving his identity card. Oh well, at least I'm now an identified problem with money. Also, did he just say he can set people on fire and has a magic wand? That's... not something I've ever seen before. Interesting.
Eric looks around at his new guildmates. One of them is freaking huge. Eric is used to being one of the tall ones but next to this guy even he feels small. Another has so much hair it covers his eyes. How does he even see? The last is... a really short older man. If Eric was a meaner soul, he would think something about the guy not fitting in very well, but as it is, all his mind shows is surprise. He looks pretty competent, Eric thinks.
"Hi Neel, I'm Eric, nice to meet you all," Eric starts off saying, then continues, "Well, I have a Poke Ball Tool Box, so if you guys need a Pokeball or Greatball made, come to me. I'll sell them to you cheaper than you'd get them at a store. Beyond that, I have a First Aid Kit, a Groomer's Kit, a Water Filter, a Flashlight and an empty jar. I wouldn't mind getting some more Potions, if you can make those, Neel. Hmm, if you know your medicines well, maybe this First Aid Kit is better off in your hands, what do you think? I also think some rope would be handy and maybe more Enriched Water. Never know when an enriched drink of water could be more useful than a Potion, right?"

Mo straggled off the cruise liner doing his best not to bump into any of the tourists. Fortunately everyone made way for the tall, somber, looking man all except for a couple of kids that we almost ran over. One look at him, sent the children scattering back to their parents leaving Mo with a heavy heart along with his heavy stomach. It was the first time Mo every been on a ship and the new experience have left Mo able only to appreciate the bed and toilet in his room.
Still he made it to the islands in one piece and for that a smile played at the corner of his lips. He was looking for to exploring and discovering the islands but more importantly the challenges that will help him grow.
Upon meeting up with Magnar and supposedly the other member entering the guild, Mo hung in the back of the group in his, almost, military attire. Mo tilt his head at the mention of fire and magic, feeling confused as to how and why a explorer would be able to do such things but simply nods in thanks when he was handed the identity card. For a moment afterward Mo turned the card in between his hands, mentally surprised that he had been given 3000p on the spot. No labor, no deal first, just 'here's some money'. Not even the tall tale 'don't spend it all in one place' was mentioned.
Mo lightly shook his head thinking it must be a down payment of some kind before approaching the rest of his guild mates by the bench. Mo listens to Neel and Eric both which seem to be bid men like Mo and nods at the mention of Potion and Enriched Water both of them sounding like good things to buy. Noticing Neel with a portable grower Mo knelt down and took his own from within his duffle bag. Almost illegible names, congratulations, and good wishes are scrolled all over the portable grower as Mo set it down besides Neel's.
"Name's Mo, my Sensei said I should gather what I need once I got here. I have only this and some necessities." Mo then purse his lips before continuing. "Weapons are not though well of where I come from but perhaps here I can find one? I care not to fight but I believe it's necessary."
For a moment Mo to the others from behind his bangs and then made to return the portable grower into his duffle bag. A part of him just wanted to show that he enjoys gardening too but with only an hour to shop they shouldn't dally for long.

"Gentlemen, it's an honor to meet all of you," Harmon greeted the other three warmly with a tip of his hat. "Harmon Parker's the name, esteemed Professor of history and sometime adventurer. Perhaps you've heard of me? No? Well, I suppose most folks they'd hire for the guild wouldn't run in the same professional circles as me. No harm done. You all look like strapping young lads, I'm sure you'll be of fine use on this expedition." He sized up the men, who seemed to tower over him, though he didn't look the least bit intimidated by them. In fact, he hardly seemed to acknowledge it.
Harmon arched an eyebrow as Eric rattle off a fully itemized list of his inventory. "That's quite a collection, m'boy, but it looks like we're in need of more medical supplies. Never know what you might run into out there, eh! But it sounds as if between the four of us, we can make everything we'll need, at cost! If you'd all like, transfer those credits to me and I can get us enough raw materials to keep us well supplied. You've just got to know the right people to talk to." Harmon's eyes glittered as he winked. "And the right way to talk to them!"

Well Mo, I'm not sure exactly where you can get a weapon, but considering at least one person around here has a magic wand, I'm sure there's a variety of weapons available." For a moment Eric questions the need for a weapon, but considering the nature of their expedition, and the likely need to ward off Pokemon attacks, Eric can see the use for it. It's not like I'm completely unarmed either, considering what I can do with a Pokeball.
"And... Harmon," Eric takes a moment to get used to calling someone who was clearly his elder by their first name. It hasn't been too long since he was a school boy and he has to stop himself from calling Harmon, 'Mr. Parker' . "We seem to have a little bit of a problem when it comes to trading in between each other, and that is that I at least don't have any cash. I'd love to give you credits to buy some assorted tech materials for me, but I don't know how to transfer credits from my card to yours, or whether it's even possible. Unless we can figure it out quickly enough, in the interest of not staying here too long and wasting too much time, I think I'll just have to buy my own materials. In addition to getting Potions and Enriched Water, I'd like to make some Greatballs and gather a surplus of materials for the trip. Now that I think about it, some rope and a Lighter also wouldn't be amiss."
"Well then, I'll be going to find the appropriate shops. When I'm done, I'll come back here, so we can try and find South Road together," Eric says. "If I have to wait for too long, I'll probably head to South Road on my own though," Eric warns smiling. He quickly turns and leaves in search of the shops he needs.

"I would prefer you keep the First Aid Kit. I have never really used one before, and don't want to break anything. As for the rope idea, I have to say it would be smart to get some, its always useful. Neel says to Eric before carefully placing it back inside his bag as Mo and Harmon arrive at the bench.
"As for weapons, I'm sure there is at least one shop nearby that should sell weapons. This is the biggest settlement so it would make sense. Although I won't be getting a weapon, I will agree with you Harmon; more medical supplies would be good, but I only have a little bit of cash on me. I think I might just end up buying a couple of waters and potions as well as some pokeballs and other essentials." Neel says turning around and leaning against the bench as Eric heads into town. "Do we want to head into town together, or just meet back here like Eric suggested after we all finish?"

Harmon shrugged nonchalantly, though internally he was a bit disgruntled. Bt he supposed it was a bit too soon for the other three Guild newbies to trust him with cash yet. "True enough! But if you ever need to pick up some scrap material for homemade goods, let me know - I can get us a good deal. I'd love to take advantage of both of your skills, for medicines and Pokeballs, though - any chance you could comp me some on credit, and I'll pay you back as soon as we do figure out how to transfer funds between these ID cards?" he added before Eric was out of earshot.

Eric turned back once he realized he was being spoken to."Ah, sure thing Harmon," he said. "Since I'm buying a bunch of materials, it'll be simple enough to make a few more Pokeballs out of it. How many do you think you'll need?"
To be honest Eric wasn't too enthusiastic about having less scrap for the journey, but he figured if he got his money back later it would be fine. Also, he just didn't have it in him to say no to a guild mate. Eric was new to being in a guild, but in his opinion other members of the guild were friends or acquaintances at least. That meant it was no big deal to help each other out like this.

Mo shift a little awkwardly as the older man, Professor Parker, introduced himself. The vertically challenged scholar was very friendly and sociable the complete opposite of Mo and not quiet what Mo expected for a professor to be like. Mo have never gone to college but he imagined them to all stuck up know it all. Still respect was were it's due and at the very least he didn't seem intimidated by Mo. With that in mind, Mo humbly nods his head in greeting and mumbles a respectful 'Professor...' As the the stout man continue on to talk about crafting.
The mention that everyone was capable of making their own gear and supplies was made clear to Mo by Prof. Parker and for split second Mo felt inadequate for the team. But the second pass and Mo physically shakes his head of the feeling of inadequacy.
For a time Mo listings to the others with a slight tilt of his head until Eric suddenly left to head into town first. Eric action wasn't exactly team spirit like but Mo had people who did better alone. He will have to see if Eric was one of such people or if the man will fall into some trouble while away from the group.
As Eric took his leave, Mo turn to face the question casually toss out by Neel while Harmon suddenly call out to Eric. Mo pause and thought about the best manner to enter the town. "...Together, I'll probably end up going to a weapon's dealer by myself but I have a hunch we'll all end up buying our supplies from the same place..."
Mo pause once more and waited for Harmon to finish with Eric before addressing him with a small tilt of his chin toward the settlement. "Prof. Parker if you care to lead the way?"

"Of course! I imagine a town like this - hardly an outpost, really - wouldn't have a lot of competition when it comes to supply stores yet. You're absolutely right, Mo." Harmon quickly caught up with Eric and took the lead. "Just two or three for now. I wouldn't want to use up all your funds, after all! Now, let's see what we can find, eh?" Giving a twirl of his cane, he hummed a jovial tune while walking down the road.

As Neel picks up his bag to follow the group into town he asks Eric, "Would you be willing to trade me? Three Basic Pokeballs for any three Potions or basic restorative. Outside of that, I'd be willing to make you two some restoratives as well; all I particularly want is a more diverse selection of berries and Apricorns to grow." He finishes with as he falls a step or two behind Eric, keeping an eye out for any of the important stores.

Eric thinks for a moment before nodding at Neel. "That seems like a fair trade to me, let's do that," he said, appreciative of the offer. Being a city boy and one that never spent enough time in any one city at that, he's never had a chance to make a trade like this before. It's quite a novel, if minor, experience.

As you venture into Argenport's streets you spot some stores nearby that should cater to your needs - a Pokemart chain currently manned by an eternally bored teenaged girl, Orion's Outlet which specialises in outdoor clothing and gear, a blacksmith's marked by a simple anvil sign and a surprisingly large hobby store.
(Short post due to work keeping me way too busy. It will get better from here I promise)

Harmon first split off to head into the Pokemart, mentally setting aside some of his funds to trade to the others for basic Potions and Pokeballs. Experience told him one could never be too prepared for an unexplored land, so he grabbed some extra medical supplies before heading over to the hobby store. While checking for any trinkets or souvenirs that might have hidden worth to him - or at least look like they could to the uneducated eye - he also kept an eye out for any growables he might be able to haggle a deal on to trade to Neel; hopefully being able to offer something he was actually interested in instead of mere credit would ease any future transactions with the man. Buying three Bandages. No need for a flashlight or firestarter with Cyndaquil around. Harmon hopes to get two Great Balls and a Basic Ball ($400) crafted by Eric, and two Potions, an Antidote, and a paralyze Heal ($400) crafted by Neel. However I'll see if Harmon finds some berries or herbs or apricorns or anything before finalizing that.

Neel wanders into the Hobby store to look at the selection of goods they had available. He hoped to find some form of berries or other outdoor equipment that might not be in the store that seemed to specialize in the supplies for the outdoors.

With a small nod Mo parted ways with the others and head into blacksmith. Mo sought out among the walls any swords or any other weapons that Mo might be able to buy but more importantly wield. Mo is either looking for a Simple or Fine bladed weapon. Ideally Mo would want a katana like the one he used in practice. But since he is going into the wild a shorter tactical blade. In the long run I'm thinking of Mo having a set of three blades.

Eric chooses to head into Orion's Outlet first, looking to buy some rope and a lighter. After making the purchases, he heads into the Pokemart. He bought some Enriched Water and then enough materials to make himself some Poke and Great Balls and then bought extra for Harmon, Neel and for the trip. He sighed. I'm not going to have as many materials as I wanted for the trip, but oh well, I'll make it last somehow. It's not like I don't have plenty of Pokeballs stored away now and I'm not going to be the only one catching Pokemon on an expedition. There's no need to be selfish, Eric reminded himself. Done with his shopping, he went about finding a good place to manufacture his Pokeballs. He got out all of the tools he needed and went to work. Soon he was done and the proud creator of several Poke and Great Balls. Eric buys: - 3 lengths of 25ft Rope - 3 Enriched Waters - 1 Lighter - 525 worth of Pokeball Scrap for 3 Great Balls - 1750 worth of extra Pokeball Scrap.
He makes 3 Basic Balls for Neel and 2 Great Balls and 1 Basic Ball for Harmon. That leaves him with 1075 worth of Pokeball Scrap.

As Neel wanders through the Hobby store, he picks up a couple of waterproof notebooks, a couple sets of cartography booklets (also waterproof), a box of pencils and colored pencils, a set of pens, as well as a few apricorn seeds that he planned on planting at a later date. After purchasing the items, he heads out towards Orion's Outlet to pick up some bait, it would come in handy later on he thought. Finally with all his new purchases bundled up in his bag, Neel heads towards the South of town, sitting down on a bench near the South Road, he starts making some potions and other restoratives that he needed, and the others had asked from him. Bought 1x Blue and Yellow Apricorn (300 each). 2x Bait (250 Each). Made 4 potions, 1 antidotes, 1 paralyze heals (100 each)
oops, and 3 of any mix of Potions, Antidotes, Paralyze Heals, Burn Heals, Ice Heals, and Awakenings for trade
Spent 2000

Harmon discovers a Shuca Berry and a White Herb for sale at the back of the produce section of the Pokemart, with a price of 380P.
Neel finds the Field Guide to Berries bundled with an ancient looking pair of Apicot berries for 1050P. He also finds thermal underwear at half price for 600P.
Mo finds several machetes for sale, of varying quality. The cheapest go for 250P, but the ones worth paying attention to are either 2000P (Simple Weapon, Wounding Strike). The best one is made from what seems to be gold, with several places on the hilt to hold some sort of gem (Fine Weapon, Wounding Strike and Slice. Alchemical potential). It commands a price of 4200P and is only rivaled by a wakizashi, made from what might be silver. It has a price of 3800P. (Fine Weapon, Pierce! and Deadly Strike).
While purchasing pokeballs Eric also spots a six pack of Apricorn balls for 1200P - A Friend Ball, a Moon Ball, a Lure Ball, a Fast Ball, a Heavy Ball and a Love Ball.
